Bird ID Skills: Hawks & Raptors
March 23, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
How many times have you seen a raptor on a fencepost or passing overhead and wondered what it was? Raptors are a great group of birds to learn because they’re so visible on the landscape and awe inspiring. Many beginner birders get confused when they see a dark shadow passing over or something perched on an electric line. During this workshop we will discover tips and tricks to ID hawks, raptors, and vultures. Must be a member of the Wonder Community to attend.

Jessica’s Why: As a former naturalist and aviary manager, I have been lovingly named a “bird-nerd” by family and friends. I have worked with owls, hawks, eagles, and vultures through informal education programs with the Maryland State Park Service. I also think birding is a wonderful and fun pastime that brings people of all ages and backgrounds together. Birds are beautiful, and just between us, I have always dreamed of flying!
